Feline Training Classes
Training cats can indeed be a fascinating journey! While cats are known for their independence and sometimes stubborn nature, they are also intelligent and capable of learning new behaviors. Here are some strategies we use to unlock the secrets of effective cat training:
1. We use the Clicker Training method.
Clicker training is a popular method that involves using a clicker to mark the exact moment your cat performs the desired behavior, followed by a reward such as premium cat food or kitten toys. The sound of the clicker helps your cat understand which behavior is being rewarded.
2. Be Patient. Cats may take time to learn new behaviors, and both the trainer & feline owner and the cat must be involved for the training to be effective. Be patient and avoid getting frustrated. If your cat isn’t responding as quickly as you’d like, it’s okay to slow down and revisit the basics—time, Patience, understanding, Repetition, Love. Remember, we operate from intelligence, Cats. And animals operate from instinct.

This is a unique feature of the Facility for felines. For Cat lovers who are having behavior difficulties and bad habits, assisting new cat owners with the various teaching methods their feline will respond to. We never force the training process. We approach each session as an opportunity for the cat to understand what is being wanted, which is not an easy task. But with Patience, Time, & Repetition, most training can be accomplished with the cat owners’ assistants.
We use the Clicker Training System, a very popular feline training method. It’s taken hold of many cat owners; it’s not only fun for both the cat and the owner but also safe, healthy & effective. (It’s not shock treatment). When used properly, the clicker is used to identify and make known good behavior – and then rewards it. (only during training).
Training Sessions:
Living with a Cat – These sessions are for those who know little about living with a cat or for those who have just become a new cat parent. The do’s & don’ts of Cat Ownership. There are a lot of felines that lose their forever homes due to a misunderstanding. With a few adjustments & compromising, these tragic endings could have been avoided.
Name Association – Getting your cat to adopt its name. (A common one). And it can be done. We use Name Association, with Treats, Repetition & Time.
Language Lessons – COME, STAY, STOP, SIT, PAW, UP, JUMP UP, HI-FIVE, LAY DOWN can be taught through rewards like cool cat toys.
Bell Ringing- The trainers will introduce your cat to the bell-ringing game. This is great for your cat to keep a sharp mind and paw coordination. Once they learn Three Card Monte,’ They don’t forget. This is a lesson to be taken home and played as admonished by our trainers.
Holding your Cat – This could present a problem as there are a lot of cats that do not like being held. The problem may be the owner not picking up the cat the correct way. Let our cat handle you and instruct you on the proper way to handle your feline. Picking Up & Holding, again using step-by-step, small victories. Time, patience, repetition, Love.
Hi-Five – Taught by a trainer using Treats and the clicker method as a reward for a job well done.

Back Training – Teaching your cat to relax in a backpack while on your back. Takes time, but once they know they are going somewhere, they don’t mind.
Outdoor Courtyard – For indoor cats, the outdoors can be overwhelming. They try to take in everything at once. Under constant supervision in our cageless feline boarding environment, this becomes a training session for cats that are indoor only.
Leash walking – This is becoming a popular activity for our cats (cat walking). This unique activity is good for our felines. However, there are a few precautions, such as when & where to walk our cats. Our trainers will familiarize you and your cat with the collar and teach you & your cat the proper walking technique. Always being visual for her & your protection.

Scratching Behavior – Does your cat scratch your furniture? Understand why and how to redirect this behavior by using a cat scratching board. These and other specific behavior problems can be corrected with time, repetition, patience, understanding, & love.

Keeping our felines amused, inquisitive, and curious is the owners’ responsibility, whether getting a buddy for her, creating a playful & quiet home environment, going for leach walks, having kitten toys (that they play with), or even ambassador cats to encourage Bonding. Your cat will show you that she has accepted you ask her friend, and you are showing her that you have accepted her by constantly reassuring her with soft pets, regular on-time feeding with natural cat food, soft talking to her, giving her space by letting her be the cat she is. This helps in the training process. If your cat loves you, she will want to please you, which comes from your bond with her, and that bond grows stronger every day.
